In January of 2015 I was 29 years old. I was in the worst shape I had ever been in. My weight had been up and down all throughout my 20’s, but this was the heaviest I had ever been, weighing 225 lbs. I decided to quit complaining and do something about it. I was referred by a friend to go see her new trainer, Austyn. As soon as I met him I thought “I’m in”. I could tell immediately he was driven and knew what he was talking about. I won’t lie, the first time I worked out with him was really tough. I couldn’t walk up or down the stairs for a week. I tried to get in shape before, going to the gym most days, working out with friends, but I didn’t see much in terms of results—particularly in relation to the amount of time I spent. I’ve always been the type of person to say “I’m going to join the gym and stick with it”. I would join a gym, use it for a week or two and then stop going. I was referred to Austyn by a friend and decided I would give his program a try. It was literally the best decision for my health and fitness that I have ever made. I grew up extremely scrawny and out of shape. I was always insecure about my look and desired that athletic fitness body. For years I worked out and tried to gain muscle, but I was constantly hitting a wall. I would notice little changes here and there but was never satisfied with my results. The picture on the left is me about 2 years into working out. I have a very fast metabolism and it is extremely hard to gain muscle mass with my body type. I thought I was doing everything right but clearly I wasn’t. I decided to make a change and truly commit myself to fitness and transforming my body. I’m not usually one to post my own results but I’m pretty proud of the hard work I’ve been putting in.
